Reaching the end of the inner sleeve, the material turns 180 degrees into the middle cylinder. Driven by backward travel flights and thermal draft currents, it dries uniformly via continuous heat contact.

The aggregate turns a second time into the outermost sleeve. Moving at a lower temperature and speed, remaining surface moisture is fully polished away before the dry solid reaches the exit.
