What Is A Rotary Dryer?

An industrial rotary dryer (also known as a rotary drum dryer or drying kiln) is the standard heavy-duty plant solution for large-scale material aggregate moisture removal. It consists of a large, slightly inclined rotating cylindrical drum driven by heavy ring gears. As the damp material moves through the tumbling interior, it makes direct contact with continuous flowing hot air streams, stripping away surface moisture rapidly.

Wet raw aggregates enter the elevated end of the inclined drum through a wear-resistant chute. The drum's slow rotation guides the bulk feed forward immediately.

Internal Lifting Flights
Specialized internal lifter plates welded along the inner wall scoop up the material and drop it in continuous curtains, creating a full-surface material sheet that exposes particles completely to heat.

Convective Heat Contact
Direct or indirect hot air generated by the burner stove flows through the cascading material curtains. Heat transfer happens instantly, flashing off heavy moisture into exhaust steam.

Separated Product Output
Dried materials slide smoothly into the discharge box at the lower end, while wet airborne dust particles are drawn upward into active cyclones and pulse jet baghouses for full environmental clean recovery.
